Okay, time to admit it. Who's 'Kanra' and why should I care?

[Lancer was on a couch in the Cherrygrove Pokemon Center, an egg sitting beside him. The Servant leaned forward with a mischievous smirk on his face, head resting on his hand.]

You know, Rin, if this is you there are better ways to get my attention. And assuming it isn't, I have to wonder who I've spoken to long enough to get them this interested with me. The alternative being whatever is in this egg will hatch and try to kill me, I think I'll work with the 'secret admirer' assumption for now.

[Lancer disconnected, picking up the egg at his side and walking outside to wait. He was starting to get bored in that city, and anyone that hated Kotomine was fine by his standards.]

[Kiri was leaning up against the cafe right outside the door, finishing off a cigarette. He must have been that close by the entire time but, hey. He raises a hand in greeting when the Servant stepped out the door.]

[Lancer gave Kiritsugu a smile in return.]

Had I known you were around already, I'd have said something.

I'm not the most open person.

[He stubs out the light and puts the unfinished cig in his pocket.]

[He opened the door with his free hand and walked in, seemingly in high spirits.]

[Kiri steps in behind Lancer, keeping an eye on anyone still in the cafe.]

So...most agile Servant, I'm guessing?

Naturally. I'm guessing the last war's Lancer was the same?

[He walked to a table that was mostly out of the way, ordering just a cup of coffee.]

[Kiri orders the same, needing the caffeine.]

He fought very odd. I have never seen anyone use two lances at the same time until then. He even caught my Saber off guard.

..Two? That does sound a little strange....even I only use one. Did you ever get his real name?

I never faced him directly but he probably told Saber. He was an Irish Knight who fought fair, at least.

You don't say.

[A faint smile crossed his face at hearing that, and he took a drink.]

Feeling some kind of lancer bonding?

It's just nice to hear of Servants with some semblance of honor after all the underhanded tricks and backstabbing that went on in the fifth war.

His master was technically cheating either way.

I can't say I'm shocked. Kotomine was cheating so much I started to wonder if there was a single rule he hadn't broken. Having other Masters do the same isn't startling.

The Holy Grail isn't what it appears to be, Lancer. Kotomine wants the evil it carries. That same evil is probably what kept him alive.

...tch. Judging by how he and his other Servant kept talking, I assumed there was something unusual about it. I never really cared enough to listen, I was just waiting for a chance to kill him.

His other Servant? Which one was that?

Now that I think of it, you might know him. He was another Archer-class that apparently was able to stay after the previous war.

He called himself Gilgamesh. Gold armor, insufferable bastard. Really, he suited Kotomine pretty well.

Kotomine's Servant. He was ridiculously strong. Must have been the Grail keeping him around too.
