Okay, time to admit it. Who's 'Kanra' and why should I care?

[Lancer was on a couch in the Cherrygrove Pokemon Center, an egg sitting beside him. The Servant leaned forward with a mischievous smirk on his face, head resting on his hand.]

You know, Rin, if this is you there are better ways to get my attention. And assuming it isn't, I have to wonder who I've spoken to long enough to get them this interested with me. The alternative being whatever is in this egg will hatch and try to kill me, I think I'll work with the 'secret admirer' assumption for now.

[Lancer disconnected, picking up the egg at his side and walking outside to wait. He was starting to get bored in that city, and anyone that hated Kotomine was fine by his standards.]

[Kiri was leaning up against the cafe right outside the door, finishing off a cigarette. He must have been that close by the entire time but, hey. He raises a hand in greeting when the Servant stepped out the door.]

[Lancer gave Kiritsugu a smile in return.]

Had I known you were around already, I'd have said something.

I'm not the most open person.

[He stubs out the light and puts the unfinished cig in his pocket.]

Shall we?

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.

[He opened the door with his free hand and walked in, seemingly in high spirits.]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Kiri steps in behind Lancer, keeping an eye on anyone still in the cafe.]

So...most agile Servant, I'm guessing?

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Naturally. I'm guessing the last war's Lancer was the same?

[He walked to a table that was mostly out of the way, ordering just a cup of coffee.]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Kiri orders the same, needing the caffeine.]

He fought very odd. I have never seen anyone use two lances at the same time until then. He even caught my Saber off guard.

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
..Two? That does sound a little strange....even I only use one. Did you ever get his real name?

[action]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I never faced him directly but he probably told Saber. He was an Irish Knight who fought fair, at least.

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
You don't say.

[A faint smile crossed his face at hearing that, and he took a drink.]

Feeling some kind of lancer bonding?

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
It's just nice to hear of Servants with some semblance of honor after all the underhanded tricks and backstabbing that went on in the fifth war.

[underhanded tricks

backstabbing

whoops]

His master was technically cheating either way.

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
I can't say I'm shocked. Kotomine was cheating so much I started to wonder if there was a single rule he hadn't broken. Having other Masters do the same isn't startling.

[action]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
The Holy Grail isn't what it appears to be, Lancer. Kotomine wants the evil it carries. That same evil is probably what kept him alive.

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
...tch. Judging by how he and his other Servant kept talking, I assumed there was something unusual about it. I never really cared enough to listen, I was just waiting for a chance to kill him.

[action]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
His other Servant? Which one was that?

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I think of it, you might know him. He was another Archer-class that apparently was able to stay after the previous war.

He called himself Gilgamesh. Gold armor, insufferable bastard. Really, he suited Kotomine pretty well.

[action]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Kotomine's Servant. He was ridiculously strong. Must have been the Grail keeping him around too.

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I never asked about the details. I know he sure as hell wasn't a pushover, at least.

[action]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Out of them all, the Berserker was most frightening. His Master was a no talent magi who had zero control over him. But he was a direct counter to the King of Heroes. That fight was the only time I saw that Golden King be defeated.

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Now that you mention it, I'm not sure what exactly happened to him or at the end of the fifth war at all. I should probably ask Rin when next I talk to her. I died a few minutes after killing Kotomine, obviously.

[Just not quite in the way one might expect.]

I saw a little bit of the fifth war's Berserker, but mainly from the sidelines. Like I said, I was mainly ordered to act in a scouting capacity.

[action]

[identity profile] graildilf.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Mind telling me the other Masters if you know them?

[action]

[identity profile] solas-ion.livejournal.com 2011-02-05 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
I guess it wouldn't hurt at this point. There was this kid named Shinji that had Rider--total bastard, honestly. I never got the name of the guy that Caster had, same with Assassin. Berserker was summoned by the Einzbern kid, Rin Tohsaka had Archer, and I was there when your kid summoned Saber.
